Scholarships for the Winter 2018 – 19  Season are due on December 1st, 2018 for consideration.


STARS strives to keep our programs affordable, but recognizes that some may need additional support to access our programs.  Our scholarships are based solely on financial need and only complete applications will be considered.

To be considered for a scholarship, please use the resources below to submit your paperwork electronically. The “Scholarship Process” document is a great resource to ensure this is an easy process.

You will be informed of your application status after the scholarship deadline. Please note, most scholarships are partial scholarships while full scholarships are reserved for those with significant needs. In addition, all scholarships require a $25 processing fee. Scholarship Policies

  • Each client, or the client’s parent or guardian, is responsible for communicating, in a timely manner, with STARS in the event they cannot participate in a scheduled lesson or program for any reason.
  • If the client is a No Call / No Show for two (2) scheduled lessons or programs, their Scholarship may be revoked, and any future scheduled lessons or programs may be cancelled.
  • Our scholarships are funded by local donors who love to hear about individuals in our community who are able to participate with STARS as a result of our Scholarship Program.  Please have your scholarship recipient, or their parent or guardian, write a short thank you letter expressing how this opportunity has affected their lives and their involvement in our community of Steamboat Springs.
  • In addition, scholarship recipients, or their parent of guardian must complete an end of the season survey.
  • If any of the items listed above are not completed or followed, you may no longer be eligible for a scholarship.

Free parking with shuttle service: Meadows Parking Lot (Pine Grove Rd and Mt Werner Rd / entrance to lot is Bangtail Way off of Pine Grove Rd).

Accessible parking (with placard): Gondola Square Parking Garage (Mt Werner Circle just beyond transit area. To get to STARS Gondola Office from garage cross covered bridge and continue straight to elevator on left (through double glass doors). Go down one level then exit through another set of double glass doors and continue straight. On left is a ramp leading down to Gondola Square and the STARS Gondola Office.

Drop-off/pick-up: “Passenger Unloading Zone” (Mt Werner Circle just prior to Gondola Transit Area). Limited parking time and vehicles must be attended. Also Gondola Square Parking Garage has 30-minute spaces available for drop-off and pick-up for STARS clients.

Located in Gondola Square at the base of the ski area across from Gondola Joe’s and the Gondola accessible entrance.

STARS Executive Offices:
Located in the lower level of the Sheraton Steamboat Resort.

STARS has partnered with Steamboat’s Christy Sports for basic winter rental equipment. Ski or snowboard packages including helmets are FREE for STARS’ participants only. In addition, STARS’ family members will get a discounted rate on ski or snowboard packages. Reserving rentals in advance is recommended.

 STARS Client Tickets

STARS clients who have a reservation for lessons with us, will receive a lift ticket for those scheduled days. Lift tickets are to be used during a STARS lesson only. This excludes clients who are signed up for inclusion program. There are no complimentary or discounted lift tickets for family members of participants in STARS programs.


Adaptive Passes

Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation Ticket Office will be selling lift tickets for Adaptive skiers as well as Companion tickets* if an adaptive assistant is needed. For those who ski/ride regularly, they also offer an Adaptive Adult Season pass.

*Please note, companions must be with Adaptive skiers at all times when utilizing a Companion ticket.
