This STARS Camp is for ages 16 – 25 with Down Syndrome and consists of two days of horseback riding and other outdoor sports and activities plus one overnight camping experience on Saturday at beautiful Camp Namino in Steamboat. Participants will learn about the magical connection between people and horses, and will acquire the skills needed to both ride and take care of these beautiful animals. Campers will meet at STARS Therapeutic Riding Center at Wandering Creek Ranch Wednesday through Friday for a day camp with programs including horseback riding, fishing, biking, kayaking, archery, and swimming. On Saturday, campers meet at Humble Ranch. From there they will hike up to their campsite for an amazing overnight* experience camping in platform tents under the stars.
Dates: July 19 – July 23
– Campers check in at Wandering Creek Ranch at 8:30am on Wednesday morning to do a horse fitting. This camp is a day camp with one overnight* camping experience on Saturday at Camp Nanimo. Campers will return for pick up at 12:00pm on Sunday from the overnight.
Cost: $350.00 per camper.
