Joan Heinz

Inspired by a brother-in-law who was motivated to recover from a severe brain injury by a beautiful Appaloosa stallion name Horizons, Joan decided to use her lifelong love of horses to help others through becoming a therapeutic riding instructor. She began to realize her dream when she graduated from Rocky Mountain College in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Riding Instruction. Joan is certified through PATH International as a registered therapeutic riding instructor and an interactive vaulting instructor. She has worked as a therapeutic riding instructor, adaptive vaulting instructor, equine manager and program director in Montana, Idaho and Colorado over the last 12 years.

Why I love STARS…

I’m very excited to be a part of the STARS team! The progressive, quality programs that offer so many individuals the opportunity to build confidence and independence while enjoying the great outdoors is both rewarding and inspirational for me. It is clear that quality of life is increased by the participants’ achievements of personal goals and aspirations while having FUN with STARS!

Other Stuff about Joan…
