Max was born and raised in Raleigh, NC. He grew up playing in the outdoors, frequently fishing, biking, and camping with his dad. Max graduated from NC State University in 2017 with a degree in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Program Management. Originally starting out as an intern with STARS, he fell in love with the program and moved to Steamboat two days after graduating and got to experience the winter side of STARS. He quickly learned that West Virginia skiing is a lot different from the real mountains in Colorado so had to “re-learn” how to ski. After that, he knew he didn’t want to leave and has been loving STARS and Steamboat ever since.

Why I love STARS…

I love STARS simply because it’s fun. We get to help and meet so many cool people from around the country and even the world.  From that, I get to make lots of great connections and work with some awesome people. It never feels like work with how much fun we have at STARS.
